Grove Ferry River Trips ~ Wildlife Experiences 2025 – Dates not yet available
Dates and times for Wildlife Experiences 2025 will be organised from March and during the year as they are dependent on many variables.
If you want to see wildlife, you can spot some on our daytime cruises. However, for a better chance, we recommend our evening wildlife experiences. These trips leave an hour before sunset and last about two hours. You might see kingfishers, woodpeckers, marsh harriers, owls, and beavers, among others. Of course, since it is “wild” life, nothing is guaranteed. Still, it’s a lovely trip through the Kent countryside with a beautiful sunset.
We leave about an hour before sunset. Guided by an ecologist, we cruise up the Stour. We look for kingfishers and other wildlife along the banks. We also check out beaver activity and a lodge. After watching the sunset, we start our return journey. Hopefully, we’ll spot a beaver or two swimming in the fading light.
Wildlife Experience FAQs
We will set up some evening trips from March to spot and watch bird life, beaver and any other fauna and flora we see – dates will be added during the year
All Experiences are planned around 2 hours on the boat with an ecologist providing recognition and information on the wildlife and fauna we see and hear.

Payment by card is part of the online booking process – note if an experience is cancelled full refunds are provided if a suitable alternative is not found.

All trips are subject to cancellation, possibly at short notice, if the weather is likely to mean a lack of wildlife. We will make every effort to re-arrange the experience but cannot guarantee to provide a suitable alternative for everybody, in which case we will offer full refunds.
Children are welcome but generally we recommend age 12+ due to the length of the event, keeping quiet, and the time of night. Parents must ensure children do not spoil it for other passengers
Dogs are welcome on our trips, but not on wildlife experiences. This is because of space and potential impacts on the wildlife.
