Trips are organised and run by Grove Ferry River Trips an independent Company from The Grove Ferry Inn, that said we have a good relationship with the Inn but they cannot take bookings on our behalf.

• Trips run 1200 to early evening… (weather and river permitting)

• Strictly limited to a maximum of 12 passengers per trip
• There is no minimum number of passengers
• Run on bookings first then first come – first served basis.
• Trips are up to 50/55 minutes
• Booking is advised to avoid disappointment
• The days trip schedule is displayed on the sailing board
• Go either upstream or downstream (depending on tide and weather)

Enjoy a special hour on a cruise from Grove Ferry. You can go up or down the river. Take in the beautiful countryside. Relax in the peace. You can scatter ashes or celebrate an anniversary, too. Historical snippets are available from the skipper if that’s your thing, maybe spot a kingfisher…

Book an Exclusive Trip

An exclusive cruise of more than 1 hour, allowing for visits to further afield points on the river, E.g. Fordwich, Plucks Gutter or just to spend extra time with friends and relatives whilst relaxing on the river just a few ideas:-

The following should be considered when booking:

• Maximum number of passengers 12
• There is no minimum number of passengers

• Daylight hours only

• Grove to Fordwich (the next possible stopping point up river) is an hour each way with limited access due to river levels and weed growth
• Grove to Plucks Gutter (the next possible stopping point down river) is 45 minutes each way
• Stopping at Fordwich or Plucks Gutter is possible with prior agreement. It will add to  the trip time.

Book a Special Trip

If you’re interested in wildlife, you can see some on our daytime cruises. However, for a better chance, we recommend joining one of our wildlife experiences. We offer evening trips up the river. These trips last about 2 hours and are led by an ecologist. This is “wild” life, so nothing is guaranteed. Still, it’s a wonderful trip through the Kent countryside, complete with a sunset.

We run wildlife experiences with an ecologist on board who is well versed in the local flora and fauna:

You can usually scatter ashes during our regular hours. Just let us know what you’d like.

Our electric boat can carry up to 12 passengers. We take you to a quiet, scenic part of the river that’s perfect for scattering ashes.

You are more than welcome to bring along drinks and nibbles for the journey (Note there is no loo on board) You can also play music from your phone if you’d like. Scattering flowers or petals or anything biodegradable along with the ashes is fine.
